Alla vielä video kuvan väritysvaiheesta, Olisin kuvannut luonnostelun ja tussauksenkin, mutta kamerasta olikin akku loppu enkä jaksanut odottaa sen latautumista, joten se vaihe jäi nyt videoimatta.

Here's the art-piece and a video for it! I was going to film the doodling and inking part as well but my camera's battery was empty so I left it out. (I was too impatient to wait it charge)

These are Dianthus flowers, or at least try to be.

Heipä hei!

Piirtelinpäs tällä kertaa sitten siivekkään hevosen. Kävi tuossa viikolla mielessä että minulta puuttuu portfoliosta paljonkin kuvia semmoisista aiheista joista todella pidän, kuten hevoset, linnat, sadut, fantasiaolennot... Ajattelin sitten että näissä blogipostauksissahan noita olisi hyvä silloin tällöin harjoitella ja piirrellä!
Tämä ensimmäinen on noin 45 minuutin tekele. Ei ihan viimeisen päälle hiottu, mutta omasta mielestäni aika hyvä hatusta vedetylle sommitelmalle.
Hevoset ovat hienoja eläimiä. Olen ihaillut niitä koko ikäni. Kävin tallilla ja ratsastustunneilla ennen ahkerasti, mutta sittemmin harrastus on jäänyt. Olisi kyllä hieno palata takaisin tunneille joku päivä! Suurimmassa heppahöperyyshuumassa tuli piirrettyäkin hevosia paljon - kiitos sen muidenkin eläinten piirtäminen helpottui kummasti. Siitä ajattelin ottaa vahingon takaisin saman tien, koska se on kerran mahdollista!
Alla vielä video tekoprosessista. :)

Ensi viikon taidan kuitenkin piirtää vielä ihan muita aiheita, koska sain toimeksiannon kirjan kansien parissa. Odotan innolla päästä töihin, sillä projekti vaikuttaa todella mielenkiintoiselta ja sopivan haastavalta.

Hello!

I drew a horse with wings! That's thanks to a notice that I made this week - my portfolio doesn't have drawings of many subjects that I really like. There're no horses, castles, fairytale themed pics, fantasy creatures... So I thought that I could kill two flies at once and draw those themes for my blog and use them in my portfolio then too!
This first one I made in about 45 minutes. I drew it with free hand so it's not perfect but I still like it. I even filmed the drawing process.
Horses are great animals in my opinion. I've admired them my whole life! I used to go to stables every week and ride but after moving to city and other stuff I had to stop that hobby. I haven't gone back yet even though I'd really love to. Luckily I can at least draw them and I will!

Next week I'll draw something else though. I got a commission related to book covers so I'll be busy. I can't wait to start that project since it seemed so interesting!

69. Do

Otinpa taas kynän käteen ja kirjoittelin lyhyen tarinan. Tällä kertaa aiheeksi päätyivät omat koirani. Tarina perustuu tositapahtumiin. :D

Kirjoitin tarinan alun perin suomeksi ja luinkin sen suomeksi, koska se kuulosti luontevammalta kuin englanti. Lisäsin kuitenkin englanninkieliset tekstitykset, jotta useampi ihminen ymmärtäisi tarinan. Vaikka kuvat kertovatkin kyllä lähes kaiken. :D

I woke up the writer in me again and wrote a short story. This time the story is starred by my dogs and the events are based on true story. :D

I wrote the story in Finnish and used it on the soundtrack as well because it sounded way more natural than when I read it in English. I just added the subtitles so that more people could understand the video - even though I think that the pictures tell it all already. :D

Teen Do-postauksen poikkeuksellisesti näin myöhään perjantai-iltana, koska huomenna olen koko päivän menossa. Suuntaan nokkani kohti Oulun Kädentaitomessuja, josta ajattelin hakea inspiraatiota ja ideoita omiin tekemisiini. :)

Päätin tarjota teille tällä kertaa jotain hieman erilaista ihan vain kokeeksi. Kyseessä on lyhyt video, joka sisältää itse kirjoittamani tarinan ja siihen tekemäni kuvituksen ja äänityksen. Luvassa 48 sekuntia täyttä tykitystä siis! x)

Haluaisin joskus ihan oikeasti kirjoittaa ja kuvittaa lastenkirjoja itse... :)

Do-post comes this time a day earlier but there's a good reason - I'm pretty much on the road tomorrow so I wouldn't have time to update my blog. I'm going to Oulu's handicraft fair where I'm going to gather new inspiration and ideas for my own projects. :)

The Do-post is a bit different this time. It's something that I wanted to try at least once. It's a short film with includes a short children's story, illustration and narration - all made by me. 48 seconds of blast I'd say. x)

I'd love to be a children's author and illustrator someday...

Viikon teemana oli PUNAINEN ja minä sain siitä aikaiseksi fanitaidetta. ;) Liitän myöhemmin linkin speed painting-videoon, jossa on yksi hyväksi toteamani vinkki piirtämiseen/maalaamiseen. Vinkkinä myös se, että maalauspohjana voi käyttää lähes mitä tahansa materiaalia. Aina ei tarvitse maksaa maltaita! :3

This week' theme was RED. I made fan-art out of it. 8) I'll give you a link to the painting's speed painting video later. It includes one good tip for drawing/painting. The other tip is that you can paint on almost any material. It doesn't always have to cost a lot. :3
